Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease an 8x8 baking pan (I used coconut oil) and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
Slowly add in the flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder; mixing until well combined.
Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Pour the batter into the baking pan and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes.
Let the brownies cool before adding the frosting and cutting them into 12 squares.
