Puppy Training, Hair Masks + Sam’s Birthday

Puppy Training, Hair Masks + Sam's Birthday

This week has been a long one! Lots has been happening and I’m looking forward to a girls’ weekend away with my mom and sister. There have been lots of sleepless nights and settling into our new routines as puppy parents but we seem to be getting the hang of things! Here is a look at last week:

Last Friday

Last Friday was my first day with Nova by myself. We played a lot in the morning and in the afternoon I took her to the vet. Cole had placement so my mom came with me which was really nice! Nova made out great at the vet and when she was done we had a little visit with the rest of my family. In the evening Cole’s mom and sister came over to meet Nova and later a couple of his cousins came by to hang out!

Saturday morning Cole and I went out to get a crate for Nova. She was not sleeping in her bed and the vet advised me that crate training was a good idea. I was against it before since I work from home but after hearing her take on things, we decided to give it a try. We spent the afternoon playing with Nova and cleaning the apartment. Then, we had some people over for a games night!

Sunday I had a hair appointment, which was really nice! I got a few inches cut off and added some highlights so my hair feels ready for spring. In the evening we took Nova for a big walk which helped her sleep a little bit better in her crate.

Monday morning Cole and I ran a couple errands and I spent the afternoon helping Cole with projects and playing with Nova. It was one of those days where everything that could go wrong seemed to, so I was very excited to be crawling into bed at the end of the day. Luckily Nova slept pretty well too!

Tuesday morning Nova and I snuggled on the couch while I got a bunch of writing done. In the afternoon Cole was really great and took her outside lots and played with her so I could get even more work done and squeeze in a nap. In the evening Cole went to play volleyball so I stayed in and played with Nova. Later on one of Cole’s friends came by for a visit!

The apartment beside ours is currently empty and they were doing renovations in there all day long. The loud noises were scaring Nova so she was glued to my side all day long. It was hard to get work done but she’s so cute that I didn’t mind!

In the evening I treated myself to a hair mask. I got my hair cut earlier in the week and want to take the best care of it. I recently received two new hair masks from Marc Anthony and they’re great if you’re looking to indulge a little without breaking the bank! Their Instant Miracle Masks* are an incredible option for your hair. In the range there is a volumizing clay mask and a damage repair hair mask. They only need to be left on for 3-5 minutes; so they aren’t super time consuming and they always leave my hair feeling healthy and soft. The damage repair option is my personal favourite!

Yesterday was Sam’s 25th birthday! I spent the day working from home and hanging out with Nova. After picking Cole up from placement we headed out to my parents’ house for a celebratory dinner for the birthday girl! Dinner was incredible and it was nice to have a mid-week visit with my family. We had Cole’s grandma come sit with Nova while we were out and had a nice visit with her when we got back before calling it a night!
