My Skincare Staples for Banishing Breakouts

My Skincare Staples for Banishing Breakouts

Breakouts are never fun to deal with. I don’t know about you guys but my skin has been acting up thanks to all the extra sweets I ate over the holidays. I always feel more self-conscious when I have acne and want to clear my skin up as quickly as possible. Over the years I have tried tons of acne targeted skincare and finally feel as though I have a good collection of products that work well for me when a breakout arises. If you suffer from acne as well, these picks should help you too!

Clarisonic Mia Smart*

My Clarisonic is a staple in my skincare routine and has been for years. It cleans my skin like nothing else and really ensures all the dirt and bacteria is removed from my skin! I love the Mia Smart especially because it pairs with an app on my phone. On the app I can set reminders to cleanse my skin as well as track my progress. Consistency is key with skincare and the app really helps me stay on track.

Biotherm Purefect Skin Cleansing Gel*

This is my go-to cleanser lately whether I have acne or not! It smells amazing and always leaves my skin feeling refreshed. The formula works to purify the skin and refine texture without drying out your skin. The gel texture feels so nice on irritated skin and it isn’t rich; so it won’t cause me to break out more like cream cleansers do.

Pixi Glow Tonic*

Pixi Glow Tonic is my all-time favourite toner and again is a product I use regularly whether I have acne or not. The formula works to deeply clean your pores and exfoliate your skin for a clearer complexion. It removes dirt and other impurities so that your skin looks its best! It tingles a bit on but it never irritates my sensitive skin.

Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra Clarifying Face Oil

This facial oil works to clear congested pores and treat as well as prevent acne. I’ll admit I hate the smell of it, but there’s no denying how well it works for me. It absorbs quickly and helps clear up my skin, which I love. It does take a bit of time to see results when you first start using it, but it’s important to be patient.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion*

This spot treatment is the best for acne! It is formulated with salicylic acid to help treat acne, sulphur to purify the skin and absorb excess oil, as well as calamine to soothe your skin. You just take a cotton swab and dot the formula onto your existing acne (or even on pimples you can feel popping up) and leave on overnight. The formula helps to seriously diminish the appearance of acne and stop pimples from popping up.

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

My skin is both dry and acne prone, which can be a real struggle. My dry skin wants rich, nourishing formulas but they also tend to break me out since they are so heavy on my skin. My mom recommended this overnight mask to me and I am in love! It is hydrating enough for my dry skin but is lightweight enough that it hasn’t caused any breakouts!
